Cinderella Tooth

I took Eden to the most incredible Pediatric Dentist last Thursday. She was beyond nervous. She gets this way with most things that are unknown, especially if it has to do with a waiting room and office.
This dentist was incredible, and that is an understatement. I was so impressed. I wish so much that I would have taken my camera. First of all, you walk into the office and on your right there is a big Shark's mouth built into the wall. Inside of the sharks mouth is the play area and it is like you are under the sea with coral, and fish. The front desk is in the shape of a gigantic smile. They have this whole "Under the Sea" theme.
The Doctor was so good with Eden. He got right down on her level and started talking about princesses and movies. That made her nervousness lessen. Don't get me wrong, she was still afraid that he was "going to give a shot", but I kept reassuring her and once she figured out that nobody was going to hurt her, she did just fine. The greatest "trick" was when the dentist asked if he could see if she had a "Cinderella Tooth". That was the key to her opening her mouth, not a little, but as wide as she could. She let him count all of her teeth and even search around a little. I was very surprised. I think that Eden's favorite part, by far, was the Carousel that she got to ride on because she was brave.
So, to those of you who are looking for a great Pediatric Dentist in Salt Lake, his name is Dr. Ryan Johansen and he is at Jordan Landing . Thanks for the recommendation, Sara. Eden is already looking forward to her next visit. I never thought that was possible.
By the way, I know that these shots aren't even close to perfect. I am getting more and more frustrated with my lens because it just has so many limits, and besides that I am the operator and technically challenged. So, I am going to have to figure something out. If anybody would like to volunteer to teach Photoshop to me, I would be ever so grateful and there may be some sort of compensation in the food area. I know some of Photoshop just from messing around, but feel like there is so much more that I am unaware of. This girl is practically impossible to get to hold still, and my lens is not fast enough. But, you know what. Her cuteness makes up for my lack of skill.

Way to go Eden! What a big day...the dentist!!! I'm glad she did so well. She's getting so big! And, she's still as cute as ever.

That dentist sounds so great! I have been using Lightroom and Photoshop together and I can't tell you how much I love it. They work so well together. You can do so much in Lightroom and only need to go to photoshop for heavy pixel editing. Amazing color correction, cropping, organization (better than bridge), web galleries, printing, etc. The clone and heal commands are also implemented in Lightoom. I only go to photoshop for serious pixel-based editing where I need to use layers. I would download the 30-day trial of lightroom and check it out. If you not a lightroom fan I would start with one of the photoshop books by Matt Kloskowski, or Scott 7 Point System for CS3. I have also attended very helpfull classes at pictureline for both CS3 and Lightroom. I recommend them. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

That is awesome that you found such a good dentist. He sounds great!!! I sure wish that I would have had a dentist like that growing up. Maybe then I wouldn't hate going so much. Cute pics!

Hey Andrea! I usually don't blog hop, but I saw your picture on Brooke Hinckley's blog when I was making a comment. It's been awhile. How's life? Things are pretty much the same with us. No baby news to report unfortunately. It seems like you told me you had a hard time in that department too. We should talk!
