I just happen to have a little Christmas cash left over and I have a minor dilemma. Should I upgrade my PS Lightroom 1.4 program to the new and improved Lightroom 3, or should i purchase this lens?
Neither one is a necessity by any means, but I have wanted each of these for a while now without being able to justify (in my cheap mind) purchasing them. Both are around the same price and would help me to learn more about photography.
What would you do?

I absolutely love lightroom 3; however, I would absolutely get the lens first!!!! You will be blown away by it.
I think the lens. Then you will have it for taking pictures now, and when you eventually upgrade your Lightroom, you can always re-edit all your pictures later.
I'm typically a lens-first kinda guy, but there is such a huge difference between Lightroom 1.x and 3.x that I'd say go for Lightroom.
