Just for a laugh

Isn't it funny the things that we will make our kids do so that we can get a little chuckle. Ah....the life of motherhood. You have to become your own comedian. This really was hilarious though.
By the way, our Easter was great. We celebrate the fun, easter bunny stuff on Saturday. The best was when our little miss woke us up and said "Daddy, you have GOT to come and see what I got." This girl absolutely loves candy. The Easter Bunny only brought her 3 eggs filled with jelly beans and M&M's, but she was delighted. He also brought her some books, which she has insisted on reading every night for the past week.
I should post some pics from Easter, but this will have to do for now.

Cinderella Tooth

I took Eden to the most incredible Pediatric Dentist last Thursday. She was beyond nervous. She gets this way with most things that are unknown, especially if it has to do with a waiting room and office.
This dentist was incredible, and that is an understatement. I was so impressed. I wish so much that I would have taken my camera. First of all, you walk into the office and on your right there is a big Shark's mouth built into the wall. Inside of the sharks mouth is the play area and it is like you are under the sea with coral, and fish. The front desk is in the shape of a gigantic smile. They have this whole "Under the Sea" theme.
The Doctor was so good with Eden. He got right down on her level and started talking about princesses and movies. That made her nervousness lessen. Don't get me wrong, she was still afraid that he was "going to give a shot", but I kept reassuring her and once she figured out that nobody was going to hurt her, she did just fine. The greatest "trick" was when the dentist asked if he could see if she had a "Cinderella Tooth". That was the key to her opening her mouth, not a little, but as wide as she could. She let him count all of her teeth and even search around a little. I was very surprised. I think that Eden's favorite part, by far, was the Carousel that she got to ride on because she was brave.
So, to those of you who are looking for a great Pediatric Dentist in Salt Lake, his name is Dr. Ryan Johansen and he is at Jordan Landing . Thanks for the recommendation, Sara. Eden is already looking forward to her next visit. I never thought that was possible.
By the way, I know that these shots aren't even close to perfect. I am getting more and more frustrated with my lens because it just has so many limits, and besides that I am the operator and technically challenged. So, I am going to have to figure something out. If anybody would like to volunteer to teach Photoshop to me, I would be ever so grateful and there may be some sort of compensation in the food area. I know some of Photoshop just from messing around, but feel like there is so much more that I am unaware of. This girl is practically impossible to get to hold still, and my lens is not fast enough. But, you know what. Her cuteness makes up for my lack of skill.

I love infants!

A friend in the neighborhood had this sweet little baby about 7 weeks ago. She let me take some shots of him. It has been a while since I've done an infant. It was fun, but I was not very confident in the process. Luckily, it worked out just fine despite using my very basic lens. I hope you like them, Trish!
He was over 10 pounds when he was born, and you can tell. He barely fit on this chair. He was such a sweetheart though. Putting up with my cold hands and moving him around so much. He finally just gave up and fell asleep, which was really nice because we got some really good shots with him sleeping. It is always amazing to me how much noise babies can sleep through. There were kids running all over the house making all sorts of noise, and it didn't even phase him. Thanks again , Trish. The first shot is my favorite, by the way.

Remember this baby?

Does anybody remember this cute baby from last summer? I thought she had chubby cheeks then, look at her now! She is the cutest little baby that I have seen in a long time. She has quite the feisty personality too, but is such a good little one. I included a shot of her when she was about 3 months (I think), and one from the other day.
One of my best friends, Emily, was in town for a few weeks and while she was here we took a few shots of her little girl. We didn't get a lot of variety because it was indoors, and she was getting anxious to play with the other kids, but there are definitely some cute shots.
She is 7 months now. It is still crazy to me how fast they grow and how fast time flies. I still can't believe Eden is three, so there you go.
It was fun to take some shots again, although I felt quite rusty. These were just taken with my regular lens that came with my camera. That is all I have for now. I just can't seem to justify spending that kind of money on a new lens when we have so many other things that need to be done. I have decided to just start stashing some of my money into an envelope, and one of these days I will have enough to buy another lens.

This one's for you, Jer!

I have been hearing for the past couple of weeks, "Hey, Annie. Guess what???" "What?" "Spring Training starts in (number of days)".
So, here we are. If I wasn't married to this great man, I probably would be left in the dark about baseball and everything to do with it. Just my luck, I don't have that problem. If any of you know Jeremy, you know that he has been a devoted New York Mets fan since he was about 10. If you ever need to know any facts about the Mets, or about baseball in general, he would be an excellent source. No, he's not obsessed...just on the verge. I have promised to someday go to a game with him in New York. Not my favorite city, but hey....anything for you, my dear:) Although, I was reminded that if we want to go to a game in Shay (sp?) stadium, that we have to go this year because they are tearing it down after this season. So, we might be making a trip out to see you after all Bryan and Summer. I just had to find the right motivation to get him to take the trip.
Anyway, so here's to the Mets, and here's to you, my love! This is the year....I can feel it.

Our Prophet Remembered

I did not take this picture, but just wanted to say how much I loved our dear Prophet, President Gordon B. Hinckley. Although I never met him face to face, he was a daily inspiration to me. I am so thankful for his life-long service, his devotion to the Lord, his love of the gospel, his love for all people and his overwhelming desire to have everyone feel the love of the Savior and our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for our prophet dear and know that he has returned to be with his eternal companion, Marjorie, and to the arms of the Savior.

Eden's 3rd Birthday

Hey! If you want to see pics from Eden's 3rd birthday party, just click on the "Hill Family Hooligans" link on the right side of this page. It is my family's blog for all of my brothers and my sister, but that is where most of my regular stuff goes. Have a look. Eden had a great 3rd Birthday and already insists that she is older than me.
